Meet Tessa Alves

Hi, I’m Tessa — a Broadway performer turned yoga teacher with a love for movement, music, and community. After 12 years on stage in New York City, I’ve brought my passion for performance, healing, and connection into the yoga room. My classes blend discipline with play, strength with softness, and always a touch of humour.

THE WHY ? 


This all started in the “Big Apple.”

 

Performing professionally for over 20 years had pushed my body to its absolute limits—and beyond. My health was on a downward spiral, but I still needed to stay active for my job.

 

I tried different physical modalities like martial arts, CrossFit, and cycling, as well as therapies such as massage, acupuncture, and reiki—the list goes on and on. Those practices each have their place, but nothing has ever given me as much in a single hour as yoga. 

 

At first, yoga was boring for me (I’m being honest, haha). But when I found my way to a 26&2 class there was something about the heated room on my overworked body, combined with the focus on breath, that allowed me to feel immediate results in how I moved during performances. I couldn’t believe how my pain began to subside.

 

The more I showed up to class, the more I realized it wasn’t just about what my body needed—it was about what my mind needed. I needed to slow down. I needed balance. I needed to breathe. Through yoga, I found a new community: one that balanced out the intensity of my life in NYC.

 

Yoga became more than movement. I felt uplifted by my community. Energized. Yoga was no longer boring.

 

That journey sparked something bigger: a dream to create a space where others can reconnect, recharge, and feel supported. A space to LAUGH, SING, and HEAL. 🙏

 

Whether you’re preparing for motherhood, the stage, or simply everyday life, opening a yoga studio is my way of sharing the journey so many of us have walked in our own unique ways. This is a place where community comes together with a little humour, a little music, and a lot of heart. This boutique studio is ours to create together—saying YES to what feels good.
